The key to Christmas
Aunt Stella’s House in the woods is a labyrinthine manor house filled with exotic finds and memorabilia. Mounted trophies, cupboard drawers with shiny treasures, and fascinating souvenirs fill the home of the sweet yet quite eccentric Aunt Stella, where siblings Emma and Carl are staying in the days before Christmas.
Inside the manor, the children enter a world where things are not quite normal. A tiny mouse keeps wanting Emma and Carl’s attention, and outside, a mysterious black creature lurks about in the fog. And then there’s the search for Aunt Stella’s misplaced key. Christmas will not come without it, she says…
Inspired by children
Aunt Stella’s House is a book for family reading, filled with playful and magic moments. The story is by Danish children’s author Cecilie Eken, renowned in Scandinavia, and from 20 November, NAME IT will be giving the book away free of charge in stores across Europe. Its story line has no specific traditions or national Christmas lore, so it can be enjoyed by kids of every European nationality. The story is about adventure, wishing, and imagination; a tale of finding magic together.
Free gifts for kids in stores
Starting now, Aunt Stella’s House can be picked up free of charge in NAME IT Blanchardstown Centre. On selected dates throughout December, kids can come to the stores and pick up little gifts as told in the storyline: a toy mouse, a key, and a magic feather will kick-start their imagination and bring the world of Aunt Stella’s House close.
This is a high-quality print, hard-back book, beautifully illustrated with the energetic and fun comicbook-style drawings of Peter Heydenreich. The colour scheme of the book is dark blue with dusty, glittery white and brown tones, all echoing the NAME IT store décor, gift wrapping paper and, of course, the Christmas design collection for children.
